To Friends of the Murray Bar, the 2nd Street Bistro & Gil’s Goods:

Hello, from all of us here on this windy little corner in Livingston.   We hope you are all happy and staying healthy as the world changes and the flowers bloom!

As our state begins the process of opening back up for business, we wanted to let you all know that we are following our own timeline in regard to returning to business as usual, our own phases, if you will.  Over the last two months, we have quietly reinvented ourselves into a bustling little take out joint and are having a blast serving our community in ways we never dreamed of before.  With the phased opening of the state, we have started to receive phone calls from friends wishing to make dinner reservations at the Bistro.  Due to the uncertainty of this summer’s tourist season, the upcoming summer-long sidewalk and street construction, and potential outbreaks occurring as Montana and surrounding states reopen, we have taken the precautionary measure to leave the Bistro in hibernation until at least the construction is finished.  We have moved our team members and the Bistro’s hot line stove into the Gil’s kitchen and are ready to offer you a newly created menu featuring wonderful fresh salads, our legendary burger, woodfired pizza and many of your old Bistro favorites as well. 

This decision is difficult for all of us here, but given the current state of things, we feel it is the prudent move, and this also gives us time to buy a new stove for the Bistro hotline. We are excited for the opportunity to shake things up a bit and give the community a little bit of everything we have to offer from our different establishments. In addition to the pizza and burger fare, we are excited to serve you fresh seafood, like our mussels and fries, or a perfectly seared filet of Faroe Island salmon, all day, 7 days a week instead of just from 5-8, Tuesday through Saturday. 

As the weather gets warmer, we look forward to chatting with more of you at the garage doors over a beer or a glass of wine, or even on the back patio by the Murray Mobile!

The Murray Bar Flies

It started out as a payback for an old bar tab that turned into a trendsetting rogue nation of fly fishermen and bar drinkers. If you had an interesting story and the camera could be focused, you were on the wall. We brought back the recognizable fly fishing guides and have added a few more additions. The criteria for making our wall is two things – you drink like a fish at the Murray or you live a life of fishing and have a few at the Murray!
